Inter-Academy Basketball Camp
To kickstart the scholarship year, our BleuscopeWIN Basketball athletes attended the Inter Academy Basketball Camp in Canberra.
Athletes from Southern Sports Academy, Western Region Academy of Sport and South East Sports Academy came together for matchplay, training and education sessions.
The athletes were fortunate enough to participate in a training session at the Centre of Excellence with Peter Lonergan, Basketball Australia Director of High Performance Coaching & Talent ID.
In addition, we participated in education sessions covering Performance Psychology with Karen Haddad (Opals Sports Psych) and Performance under Pressure presented by Megan Fritsch. Both sessions providing valuable insight for our young athletes as they progress along their basketball pathway.
Following training and matchplay, the athletes had the opportunity to use the AIS Recovery Centre, implementing the same high-performance behaviours of those at the AIS. The weekend concluded with a tour of the Australian Institute of Sport.
