The Illawarra Academy of Sport is pleased to announce that our 2024-25 scholarship program nominations are officially open.

The IAS 2024-25 scholarship intake will run from October 2024 until September 2025.

The scholarships are a fee-free program and are proudly funded by local and state governments, plus community partners.

Key commitments for the scholarship period include:

• Induction Day: 19 October 2024
• Academy Games: 11-13 April 2025 at Tamworth (eligible sports only)
• Training: Weekly/fortnightly/monthly (depending on sport)
• Camps: 1-2 camps per year (dependent on program)
• Education Sessions: Various dates throughout the year
• Athlete Testing: Twice during scholarship
• Strength & Conditioning: Weekly supervised sessions in council region
• Council Reception: once a year (your residential council only)
• Presentation Night: September 2025

Scholarship holders are required to purchase uniforms (approximately $220) and an athlete levy may apply to sport specific camps and Academy Games. Each scholarship is free of charge to athletes and is valued over $2,500.

The scholarship program covers numerous sports and aims to provide coaching, education, performance support and training for young Illawarra athletes in order to improve their development in their chosen sport.
