On Monday and Tuesday evening this week, Jess Stoll of The Female Collective ran a fantastic education workshop for Team IAS’ female scholarship holders. The program, ‘Project FEM’, is a comprehensive education program for female athletes, presented by female health physiotherapists. Jess walked participants through varied aspects of women’s health and the enormous impact that they have on an athlete’s performance.

Jess is a women’s health and musculoskeletal physio and the founding director of a female only physiotherapy practice based in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven: The Female Collective. She is the head physio of St George Illawarra Dragons NRLW team and female health educator for the NRL. Thanks to her extensive experience working in professional and elite women’s sport, Jess brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her sessions with our athletes, presenting a highly engaging, informative and relevant workshop. The presentation covered a number of key topics such as the menstrual cycle, breast health, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport and female athlete injuries, guiding our athletes through essential information to achieve optimum health and performance.

Team IAS is extremely grateful to Jess and The Female Collective for providing such an excellent opportunity for our athletes to educate themselves and expand their understanding of their own health and wellbeing as they more into the high performance space.
