CLUB/ASSOCIATION: Wollongong Swim Club. Why did you apply for an IAS scholarship? I applied for an IAS Scholarship to learn how to improve my skills and knowledge to be the best athlete I can. Who’s your favourite professional athlete and why? James Magnussen, because he loves what he does and he tries his best to excel even further. If you weren’t playing this sport, what would you be doing and why? I would probably be playing netball or running because I like to be fit and active. How would you describe yourself in one sentence? Happy, crazy, determined and motivated. What are your plans beyond school? After school I would love to represent Australia at the Olympics in swimming, and also become a marine biologist. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I would live in America, because they have strong swim teams and good universities. This would allow me to continue swimming and complete my studies. What do you do in your free time? I love to take my two dogs to the beach and I enjoy going for runs. What is your favourite subject at school? My favourite subject is sport and PE theory. What is your greatest achievement in your sport so far? Being ranked Australia’s fastest 12-year-old for 200 backstroke for 2014 short-course, and being selected in the NSW Junior Shark Squad 2015. When did you start playing your sport and how did you get started? I learnt to swim from 6 months of age and started training and competing when I was 8 years old.
