Applications for Illawarra Academy of Sport (IAS) membership are now open.

Residents of the Wollongong and Shellharbour local government areas are encouraged to apply for election as an IAS Community Member.

As an IAS Community Member, you will:

  1. Elect the IAS Board of Directors, which has the responsibility of controlling and managing the affairs of the IAS
  2. Promote and advocate the interests and objectives of the IAS
  3. Represent the IAS at various functions and events
  4. Apply your skills and knowledge to support the overall performance of the IAS

Community Members are expected to participate in at least three IAS general meetings annually.

To be eligible for election as a Community Member, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the Wollongong or Shellharbour local government areas.

Currently there are two Community Member positions available for Wollongong and one for Shellharbour.

The IAS Community Membership group comprises of three residents from Wollongong, and one resident of each of the Shellharbour, Shoalhaven, Kiama, and Wingecarribee local government areas.

To register your interest as a Community Member, please complete the Expression of Interest form and submit a cover letter noting your qualifications, skills, and experience either via the form or via email to ceo@ias.org.au

Expressions of interest close 5pm Tuesday, 8 October 2024.
