IAS had a strong contingent take part in Goulburn’s 2 day Road Tour with 5 current athletes and 4 graduated athletes taking part. It was the performance of two current athletes in Mitchell Wright and Chloe Heffernan that drew everyone’s attention. The 2 day Tour consisted of 4 stages which included a Prologue and Road Race on day 1 and a Time Trial and Road Race on Day 2. Wright and Heffernan were both competing in the u17 divisions which saw them ride a 6km Prologue and a 45 km Road Race on day 1 and a 10km Time Trial and a 47 km Road Race on day 2. Mitchell Wright won the U17’s Men’s division with a dominate performance across each stage but most noticeable was the solo break away win in the Road Race on day 2 which showed his true dominance. Chloe Heffernan also dominated the U17 Women’s division with standout performances across all 4 stages with her road race being similar to Mitchell’s race with her also winning after a solo break away.
