Over the course of the 2019-20 Scholarship swimming athletes participated in a series of camps with industry experts. The IAS Swimming program develops both athletes and their coaches, aiming to take these talented athletes to the top 10 at Nationals.
Well done to the swimmers and coaches on a great year of development, we look forward to seeing their progress when interstate competition returns!
Congratulations of Kaylah Brennan, the 2019-20 Swimming Athlete of the Year!
Kaylah has made huge developments over the past 12 months, a testament to her strong work ethic and determination.
Kaylah was a finalist at the Senior State Age Championships in the 100m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly. Kaylah went on to win a gold medal 15/16 years girls medley relay, with the team breaking the Club and All comers record time.
“Kaylah reinvented herself,” Swimming NSW Coaching Director, Jon Shaw said on Kaylah’s performance at the Senior State Age Championships.
Kaylah continued her form at the NSW Country Championships, having two top 10 finishes. Unfortunately, COVID halted Nationals and all other competitions.
Not only is Kaylah committed to her own development but also that of others and volunteers as judge of stroke at club point score nights.
We look forward to seeing Kaylah’s progression as the return to competition commences. Congratulations Kaylah!
