Congratulations to the 2022/23 Bluescope WIN Basketball Athlete of the Year, AKI LANGFORD!
2023 was more than a breakout year for Aki Langford.
Aki has emerged into an incredible athlete leaving an impression on the court and amongst his teammates.
Aki was selected for the NSW 16s Country Boys team, where he was also selected as captain for this team. Aki also was a top five scorer at the Australian National Basketball Championships for 2023 and the leading scorer and rebounder for his team.
Aki embodies the qualities of a great player as well as a great leader. He was able to step up to lead the NSW Country team both on and off the court, in a high-pressure environment, each step of the way.
Aki’s commitment extends beyond the court. He is an enthusiastic and consistent athlete, attending training sessions, education, and strength & conditioning sessions frequently throughout the year. Aki is a volunteer coach and has previously been a referee for local competitions.
Congratulations Aki, a very well deserving recipient and we look forward to seeing you excel in all you do.
