The upcoming Your Local Club Academy Games are not only a test of skill and hard work for the Illawarra Academy of Sport BlueScope WIN (BSW) Basketball Squad; they’re also a testament to the invaluable support of the team’s namesake sponsor.
As the Games approach, the IAS Basketballers are finalising preparations and fine-tuning their game strategies, building on a foundation of athlete and coach education funded by the BSW Community Partners Grant over the last several years. Sponsorship from BSW allows the IAS to provide structured learning sessions designed to enhance our coaches’ skillsets and encourage athletes to understand and implement their leadership capacities.
Teams drawn from our squad of 27 players aged 13 to 15 will come together with young talent from other Regional Academies for a weekend of tough competition in Wagga Wagga, where they are poised to make a strong showing. With the BSW logo displayed on their jerseys, players aren’t just representing the IAS, but are also honouring a generous ongoing partnership.
