
The Illawarra Academy of Sport (IAS), an official Olympic Training Centre, is now inviting Expressions of Interest for an Alumni Member.
IAS supports athlete development across the Illawarra, providing pathways for athletes to reach their full potential through expert coaching and high-performance programs. Many of our athletes have gone on to forge successful professional sporting careers, including representing Australia, and competing in Olympic and Paralympic Games.
THE ROLE OF THE ALUMNI MEMBER
As the IAS Alumni Member, you will:
1. Elect the IAS Board of Directors, which has the responsibility of controlling and managing the affairs of the IAS
2. Promote and advocate the interests and objectives of the IAS
3. Represent the IAS at various functions and events
4. Apply your skills and knowledge to support IAS initiatives
COMMITMENT
The Alumni Member is expected to participate in at least three (3) IAS general meetings annually, and is eligible to be engaged on IAS subcommittees or working groups.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for election as the Alumni Member, one must:
1. Be at least 18 years of age; and
2. Reside within one of the LGA’s that comprise the IAS, being Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven, and Wingecarribee.
3. Be a graduate of the IAS.
TERMS
Membership expires after three (3) years from the date of election.

Express your interest in the IAS Alumni membership position by completing the Expression of Interest Form by 5pm Wednesday, 23 September 2026.
