The Illawarra Academy of Sport holds an annual fundraising Golf Day The Illawarra Academy of Sport held its annual fundraising Golf Day last year at the Kiama Golf Club on Friday 23rd November 2012. A total of 18 teams participated in the two ball stableford event with the team from A Plus Plastics claiming honors with a score of 101 Team members included Albert Tory, Bronwyn Tory, Kelly Greives & Rolly Taddeo, Runners up with 99 were the Trust-T-Frames team including Steve Coursey, Neil Philips, Steve Stojanovic and Garry Wilson. Nearest the pins on the 4th and 16th were taken out by Chris McGrath and Andrew Reid while Kym Davies won the straightest drive on the 1st hole . Winners of nearest the pin and straight drive received a Maxum Watch proudly donated by Darryl Tighe Jewellers. It was a day to remember for IAS athlete Connor Bond (picture) who shot an unofficial course record of 4 under par. Special thanks must go to the IAS Golf squad manager Ralph Stevenson, the IAS Golf squad athletes, the Kiama Golf Club and all the teams who participated and supported this important fundraising event.
