BluescopeWIN Lonestar Jake Treyvaud has had an unstoppable year winning National titles, competing at the World Championships and gaining silver at the Oceania Championships.
The 17-year-old wrestler’s latest achievement was his selection to represent Australia at the Oceania Championships in January in Samoa. His selection came after winning not only the Cadet division but also the Under 21s in the Junior Freestyle events at the Oceania selection trials.
Treyvaud’s Australian selection comes off the back of his success in the National Wrestling Championships in October, where he won both the Under 19 and Open titles.
The highlight of Treyvaud’s year was competing at the inaugural Youth MMA World Championships in Rome in August. Treyvaud is hungry to represent his country on the world stage again, with his sights set on a gold medal at both the IMMAF World Championships and Pankration World Championships.
Jake is now focused and determined to achieve his goals by stepping up his training, with a major part of that through his IAS BluescopeWIN Lonestar scholarship.
“The IAS has a great strength and conditioning program – I already feel stronger and it’s a huge part of my sport,” he said. “I look forward to taking full advantage of all IAS programs and all they have to offer to achieve my goals.”
