IAS Cycling Squad Athlete Kirk Cleaven has claimed the 2015 13 Boys Australian Title at the 2015 Subaru BMX National Championships. The Championships were held from Tuesday, April 28 to Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the Brisbane SX Track at the Sleeman Sports Centre in Brisbane, QLD. It was a very dominate display from the young BMXer, who was racing the top 66 riders from across the country in his age group. Cleaven was one of five riders who won their three motos (seeding racers) leading into the deadman qualifiers. The qualifiers were eight competitors per race with the top 4 continuing on to the next round. Kirk was consistent on the road to the final winning his eighths race, finishing 2nd in the Quarters and 1st in the semis. This set the scene for a great final with the other five dominate riders from the motos each having similar qualifiers and the final was going to pit the best riders against each other for a mad dash to the Australian Title. Kirk’s Dominance from his earlier racers continued in the final, leading out of the gates and getting passed on the inside at the first turn before regaining the lead moments later and accelerating away to once again cross the line first to claim the 2015 Australian Title. Kirk Also won the State V State 13 Boys Dynamite championships which saw the best riders from each state’s Dynamite series championships compete in the final to crown the National champion.
