Illawarra Academy of Sports AWD brothers Jarrod and Tarren Dyer won gold and silver during impressive performances at the Swimming NSW Multi Class Carnival at the Ryde Pool last weekend. The boys competied in five events each with Jarrod winning gold in each of his events in the 15-16 year olds – competing in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke and the 200m Individual Medley. Competing in the 17 to 34 years category, older brother Tarren won silver in the 50m Freestyle, silver in the 100m Freestyle, silver in the 50m Butterfly, plus gold in the 100m Butterfly and gold in the 200m Medley. The carnival was excellent preparation for the boys, ahead of the upcoming Georgina Hope Swimmers Foundation, Australian National Age and Open Titles. Several Illawarra clubs will be send their top swimmers to the nationals to compete against the best young swimmers in Australia in the week-long meet.
