The IAS Subway Triathlon Squad will this weekend take part in the Tri the Gong triathlon festival. The stunning harbour precinct and blue mile of Wollongong City will come alive with a festival of fitness, health and family fun that offers everyone the chance to “have a go” or come along and enjoy the colour and spectacle of the sport of triathlon. This year, the racing will be extremely competitive and a spectacle to watch, as not only will the region’s best junior athletes be in action in the NSW Junior Series races, the ‘Standard Distance’ race is a qualifying race for the 2014/15 National Championships team, Wollongong will also be hosting 100 International Elite athletes, who will be competing in the OTU “Oceania Cup” Sprint Championships; these races are fast paced, with draft legal bike legs and run legs achieved at a sprint.
