The IAS had 3 current athletes compete at the 2014 Australian All Schools Athletics Championships held in Adelaide last weekend 5th to 7th December. Casey Lee Bedford competed in the U16 100m and 200m double finishing 4th in her 100m heat (11th overall) and 3rd in her 200m heat (11th overall). Teghan Barklay competed in the 90m Hurdles and 200m Hurdles double finishing 3rd in her 100m heat qualifying for the final where she finished 6th. Her 200m event was a straight final held over 2 heats with the fastest times taking the medals. Teghan won her heat but was unlucky to finish without a medal with the second heat being faster, finishing 4th overall. Kade Szakacs completed in the 1500m where in a tough field he finished 19th. Academy graduate Jarrod Twigg also had a great meet, winning the under 16s 200m hurdles in a personal best time of 25.51 seconds. Jarrod competed against the older boys in the under 18s 100m hurdles and finished third. He also won a silver medal in the relay.
