Illawarra Academy of Sport Basketballers Noah Martin and Tyler Ottosson have had their hard work and dedication to their sport acknowledged this week with their selection in the Basketball NSW U16’s NSW Country Team. Martin and Ottosson along with fellow Illawarra ballers Phillip Dopud and Harry Morris will compete at the Basketball Australia U16 National Championships in Perth, Western Australia from 8th – 15th July 2017. The Basketball Australia U16 National Championships provides young basketballers with the opportunity to play in an elite tournament representing their state on a national stage. IAS Head Coach and Illawarra Hawks star Rhys Martin believes the “national championships remain an important stepping stone in the careers of many Australian basketballers” “Noah and Tyler have shown significant improvement through the Academy program and their selection is a testament to their dedication and personal drive” Martin has just returned from the 2017 ClubsNSW Academy Games where fellow academy athlete Zoe Roulston was recognized with her selection in the tournament All Star Merit Team.
