Commonwealth Games NSW (CGNSW) recently announced the 2024 recipients of it’s CGNSW Athlete Grant Program, wherein each successful athlete is awarded $1,000. CGNSW CEO Peter Tate said “These 40 young athletes have demonstrated tremendous ability in their respective sport pathways. Like many previous award winners, I’m confident quite a few will be chosen to represent Australia in future Commonwealth Games”.
Each year, New South Wales athletes under the age of 20 are nominated by their respective State Sporting Organisations from their talented pathway programs, and a small number, 40 individuals in 2024, have the honour of accepting the award. 2024 marks the 6th edition of the CGNSW Athlete Grants, which commenced in 2016 and have celebrated 169 recipients since their establishment.
This year, two IAS scholarship holders have been selected to receive the grant; Skye Bell from our Triathlon program, and Mireille Smith from Volleyball. This represents an enormous achievement for Skye and Mireille, elevating what, for both, has already been a highly successful sporting year. Congratulations!
