Mason Broadhead

Congratulations to MASON BROADHEAD, the 2019-20 IAS BluescopeWIN Basketball Athlete Of The Year!

Mason has achieved fantastic results this year including selection in the Australian Country Under 16 Boys team to tour New Zealand and in the NSW state squad to compete at the National Championships.

Although these events not going ahead due to COVID, it did not dampen Masons attitude to continue to improve and develop his basketball skills. Mason continued to train with the Baller Elite program, an online program designed to be interactive with representative athletes, and diligently completed his IAS homebased strength and conditioning program so that he was ready and in peak condition for when basketball resumed.

Mason is a selfless, sympathetic and compassionate citizen, helping to coordinate a drop off point in Thirroul for food and water for the people affected in the Sussex Inlet area by the bushfires in early 2020. Mason also regularly gives back to the community by completing food drops for the ‘Need for a Feed’ at Bulli Uniting Church.

Mason has been a standout for the program as he trains with high intensity and a positive, supportive attitude. We all look forward to seeing Mason have the chance to continue to pursue his Basketball dreams

2019-20 BluescopeWIN Basketball Program

Under the expertise from coaches, Glen Saville and Tori Forrester, the BluescopeWIN Basketball athletes used the setbacks from COVID as motivation to keep working hard, stay accountable and strive for excellence.
Well done Basketballers – making the most of every opportunity has given you “every chance to be great!”
