Congratulations to GRACE TRACEY winner of the 2022/23 DRB Group Tobin Family Award for the IAS Athlete of the Year
Grace Tracey, an all-rounder athlete has had an incredible past 12 months, both on the Netball court and Football field.
At just 15 years of age, Grace has achieved greatness across Netball and AFL.
During the scholarship year, Grace has been selected into the Australian All Schools Netball Team and the Australian All Schools AFL Team. This is an incredible effort to gain selection in both teams and the highest-level achievement at school level.
On top of this, Grace was also named Best and Fairest at the Australian All Schools AFL Tournament as well as being selected as captain of the NSW All Schools AFL Team.
Grace has been identified across both sports as an up-and-coming athlete, attaining a spot in the NSW State Titles Netball ID Program as well as the Sydney Swans Academy U18 top end.
“Grace has potential to be an emerging leader within the IAS program. This is her first year and she has been able to learn from our current squad leaders. Grace is continually looking at ways to develop. She actively seeks feedback in order to improve.” (Ashlee Schofield)
Grace Tracy epitomises the dynamic athlete. She is extremely versatile, excelling across two sports. Her commitment to the IAS is extraordinary, consistently attending training sessions, supervised gym sessions and camps throughout the scholarship year. Grace is not only a great athlete on the field and court, but a selfless sportsperson. Grace coaches a local Netball team and frequently volunteers for school and sporting events.

The DRB Group Tobin Family Award is given to the Academy athlete who, during the course of their scholarship, displays an exceptional level of sports performance, a commendable attitude to competition, persistent dedication to learning and strong community focus.
