LoneStar Athletes Shine Illawarra Academy of Sport LoneStar Equestrian Athlete Emily Lord competed at the Show Horse Council of Australia’s Gallery Equine Grand National Championships held over four days from March 16th to 19th at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. The Grand National Championships is the most prestigious event on the equestrian calendar attracting the nation’s best riders and the Show Horse Council of Australia flying in top international Judges to preside over the event. This year the judges were flown in from England. To compete at this event competitors needed to qualify with a successful performance at one of the nominated events in 2015. Competing in The EQUISSAGE Grand National Show Hunter Galloway over 14.2h n/e 15hh Class, Emily came up against the 30 best riders across the country of which she was one of the youngest competitors. Emily and her horse Kaesbrook Gladiator were outstanding putting in a tremendous performance to win the class and claim the Liz Bower Memorial Trophy. Emily was also crowned National Champion and automatic qualification to the 2017 Grand Nationals to defend her crown.
