CLUB/ASSOCIATION: Illawarra Blue Stars Why did you apply for an IAS scholarship? To further improve my athletic abilities. Who’s your favourite professional athlete and why? Matt Shirvington is my favourite professional athlete because he has been so successful in the events I like and compete in. If you weren’t playing this sport what would you be doing and why? I would be playing soccer and rugby union because I also enjoyed playing those sports. How would you describe yourself in one sentence? I am focused and committed to improving and growing as an athlete. What are your plans beyond school? I would like to have the opportunity to be either a professional athlete or musician. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? I don’t know yet. Right now I like living in the Illawarra. It is a great place to live. What do you do in your free time? I play a number of musical instruments and perform with my sister. I also skate and hang with friends. What is your favourite subject at school? My favourite subject is music. What is your greatest achievement in your sport so far? My greatest achievement is making the state carnival two years in a row, and having one of the fastest times in my age group. When did you start playing your sport and how did you get started? When I was 11 years old and in Year 6 at school, I realised that I liked running and that I was fast. I started training and entering carnivals.
