CLUB/ASSOCIATION: University and Moss Vale Why did you apply for an IAS scholarship? I applied for an IAS scholarship to improve my all round game, fitness, knowledge and regain my confidence after an injury lay-off. Who’s your favourite professional athlete and why? Glenn Turner because we are from the same home town and play the same position. If you weren’t playing this sport what would you be doing and why? If I wasn’t playing hockey I would be playing soccer like my Dad. How would you describe yourself in one sentence? Hardworking, positive, easy-going type of guy willing to listen and eager to learn. What are your plans beyond school? Beyond school I intend to strive hard at my game and hope to one day emulate the goals achieved by Glenn Turner and become a professional athlete. If you could live anywhere in the world it would be? Shellharbour Village. I moved here a few months ago and absolutely love it. What do you do in your free time? Practise hockey. Train to improve my game and fitness. Spend time with family and friends at home, going to the movies and shopping. What is your favourite subject at school? My favourite subjects are art and woodwork as I enjoy creating things with my own hands. What is your greatest achievement in your sport so far? My greatest achievement would be competing at the Australian National Field Hockey Championships in 2011 and 2012. Another proud achievement is being invited by the NSW Bushrangers to tour Japan and Singapore for three weeks in April 2015. When did you start playing your sport and how did you get started? I started playing hockey when I was six because my older brothers and sister were playing.
