IAS had a number of athletes compete at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre from 11th March to 15th March 2015. Zach Jones has competed at his first Australian Junior Athletics Championships in the Para u20 division and has had great success. Qualifying for a massive 8 events, Zach won a total of 6 medals. Zach finished 6th in the 100m, 4th in the Shot Put, 3rd in the Long Jump, discus Throw and 400m, 2nd in the 800m and 200m and 1st in the 1500m. Winning 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 3 Bronze Medals. Casey Lee Bedford won a Silver Medal in the 200m and a Bronze Medal in the 4 x 100m as part of the NSW relay team. Casey also qualified for the 100m final where she finished 5th. Olivia Rose McEwan ran 4th in her heat for the 100m hurdles, qualifying for the final where she ran a new Personal Best time of 14.38s to finish 6th in Australia. Kade Szakacs Competed in the 800m and 1500m. In his 800m heat he was unluckily court up in a fall with a number of other competitors and was able to claw his way back to finish 6th, with unfortunately only the first 4 going through to the final. On time this meant he finished 12th overall across the 2 heats. In the 1500m he was more fortunate finishing 2nd in his heat qualifying for the final where he was able to back up and finish 5th.
