The IAS Golf Squad participated in the Golf Illawarra’s Collegians Junior Illawarra Masters at Port Kembla and Kiama golf clubs. The two-day event held for a second year under the sponsorship of Collegians effectively replaced the 90-hole junior event which was held in mid-January for more than 20 years. The Junior Illawarra Masters featured 51 boys and five girls, including seven non-handicap players. The IAS Athletes had great results with a number of them piking up different titles. Sarah Johnson was the girls District Champion, with a combined total of 167 for her two rounds. Jake Reay was the boys overall nett winner with 130 nett Jarrod Callahan was the boys under-14s gross winner. Trent Cooksley was the boys under 18s nett winner with 138 nett Ben McMechan was the boys under 16s nett winner with 135 nett With 56 players and a high standard of golf in perfect conditions, the tournament was a great success with the 2016 Masters scheduled to be hosted by Wollongong and The Grange golf clubs.
