Super sprint is a shorter, more dynamic distance in nature. The distance allows the IAS athletes to work on speed and skills as well as the strength and endurance of the longer events.

IAS owned the podium in the super sprint with Brooklyn Henry first, Liam Hinchcliffe 2nd’, and Nash Hay 3rd. Lauren Myers claimed 2nd in women’s category.

In the sprint distance event Kye Robinson won the 14-15 age group with Thomas Jennings 3rd. Angus Waddell was 2nd in 16-19 AG.

The mixed teams was won by IAS team made up of Freya Robinson-Mills, Jacinta Cliff and Liam Hinchcliffe.

All IAS athletes proudly represented the academy and themselves. Everyone left Callala with many positives and a few lessons learnt.

Several athletes will head to Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast for the first round of the National Youth and Junior series. The event, run over 4 days, will see athlete race multiple times over a variety of formats including super sprint, reverse order, endure (2 x triathlons back to back) and the Mixed Team Relay, an event that will make its Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020.
